Thanks to the vision of our Structural Interventions’ founder, Dr. Kurt Amplatz, and the bold, committed physicians who built upon his work, a device was pioneered that could close the holes in the hearts of the tiniest babies: the Amplatzer Piccolo™ Occluder. Watch how we carry on this exciting legacy today.

Can you give metal a memory? This space-age nitinol wire can be turned, twisted or smashed in a million ways and will always perfectly spring back to its original shape. Watch how 300 people work hard every day at our Structural Interventions facilities to turn this magical memory metal into our Abbott Amplatzer Occluders.
